Them Boys still on top! Ketucky Wins the Midwest Regional Final!

Last night's game came down to the wire, but  Kentucky (Wildcat's) managed to outlast  Notre Dame
(Fighting Irish) just enough to win, final score 68-66. With 6 seconds to go in the game, Andrew Harrison hit two free throws (CLUTCH!) to put the Wildcats on top. Many say Notre Dame was Kentucky's toughest test to date and I agree. The Fighting Irish were not intimidated by the Wildcat's perfect record. They controlled the tempo the entire game and almost beat the #1 overall seed. This would have been the biggest upset of the tournament. But Kentucky did not give up, with big plays from Karl-Anthony Towns (17pts in second half; 25pts in all), the Wildcats stayed in reach of the Fighting Irish and pulled away when it counted the most.
Congratulations are still in order for the Kentucky Wildcats for winning the Midwest Regional Final and advancing to the Final Four with a (38-0) record. Can't wait until next week! It's about to get real people lol!
Kudos to John Calipari!!!

One Time for the Savannah State Lady Tigers!!!

Savannah State University Women's Basketball Team
If you did not know, I attend Savannah State University and our Lady Tigers are breaking SSU records. The MEAC Champions (21-10) season ended last night in their first NCAA March Madness appearance against the (#1 seed) University of South Carolina Gamecocks.
The last time the Tigers and Gamecocks played each other, SSU lost by 62 points but in the NCAA tournament were only down by ten points (49-39) at the half, major improvement. Feeling held back long enough, the Gamecocks used the second half to pull away from the Lady Tigers making a 21-1 run to win the game; final score 81-48.
Even though my Tigers lost, I still love my S! I love my S! I love my U! I love, I love, I love, I LOVE MY SSU!
TIGER PRIDE TILL THE DAY I DIE!!!
I LOVE MY HBCU!

March Madness!!!

Well folks! March Madness is underway and sports fans around the world have officially discarded their brackets.
The round of 64 began today Thursday, March 19th and ends Friday March 20th.
The biggest upset so far has been in the West division of the NCAA single-elimination tournament. The Georgia State Panthers (#14) went up against the Baylor Bears (#3) at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, FL. The Panthers won by 1 point after star player R.J. Hunter hit a 3 pointer with 2.7 seconds to go in the game which sent the Bears hightailing home earlier than expected. His dad and coach Ron Hunter, who tore his achilles tendon about a week ago, fell out of his chair while celebrating the long 3 LOL!
Other teams that have advanced so far to the Round of 32 are: Kentucky, Cincinnati, Butler, Notre Dame, Arkansas, North Carolina, Xavier, Ohio State, Arizona, Villanova, N.C. State, UCLA, Utah, and UAB.

Who do you think is going to win the NCAA Championship? I'm going with Kentucky. They still mad about not winning last year if you ask me.

Westbrook MVP?!

Westbrook plotting ABOUT A YEAR AGO! (Bobby Shmurda voice)
Russell Westbrook aka the NBA's Beast Mode, is setting basketball courts on fire.
On Wednesday night Westbrook received his 4th straight triple-double in the overtime win (123-118) against the Philadelphia 76ers. He is the 1st player since Michael Jordan to do so; talk about making history.
Westbrook returned to the court four days after having surgery on his face. Wearing a protective mask, Westbrook went off for 49 points(career high), 16 rebounds and 10 assists.
In the process of such greatness, has Westbrook solidified his candidacy for MVP?! I think so, while Kevin Durant is out with a foot injury, Westbrook has definitely stepped up in his absence and dominated. With playoffs right around the corner, the OKC Thunder are holding on tight to that 8th spot in the Western Conference; special thanks to Westbrook. It seems like he's determined to compete in the post season and of course win Most Valuable Player. His competitive drive is unmatched and being that I am an OKC fan, I'm a little biased on who I want to win. LET'S GO! 2 THUNDERS IN ROW! WESTBROOK 4 MVP!
